It was great to get to Damascus. With the weather I spent 2 nights in hostels, and then hiked 3 days to get to Damascus. The plan worked great. The first day I hiked a little over 12 miles and it snowed that night. The second night another hostel and the temperature dropped to 18ยบ F. The next two days were good weather, but on the third day it rained as I hiked into Damascus.
My boots are falling apart. Both have holes over the big toe joint. The sole on the edge is separating. Of course the small toe box is still a big problem. Just a couple more days to put up with them. See final summary.
